What Does the Post Do For the Community?

VFW Post 4816, in Porter Texas, serves the veterans and their families throughout East Montgomery County, Kingwood, Atascocita and Humble area by providing VA assistance, military benefits assistance, burial assistance and other general veteran's assistance.

A number of its members have served in district and state positions.

The Post currently has a membership of 300 individuals with an active membership of approximately 55.

Some of the programs in which members participate are:

  • Cub Scout Programs
  • Boy Scout Programs
  • Girl Scout Programs
  • Junior R.O.T.C. Programs

Elementary, Middle School and High School programs in which we offer guidance in civics, history, flag decorum, respect for the country, its veterans and institutions.

  • Various fund raising programs for the community.
  • VA Hospital assistance programs.
  • Assistance to homeless veterans.
  • Assistance for disabled veterans.
  • Community Programs.
  • Participation in community projects and programs.
